So, after we went back into the reef, we headed to the fish eye and did sprint turns with Uni and Kahi.
Just like in high school..
Summer series is almost here, it starts at the end of the month.
First race is May 30th.
Come support if you'd like.
You don't have to be there early.
Oh, it's at Matapang by the way.
You can come around 11-12.
I doubt you readers are going to come.
LOL
But that's okay.
I don't mind if you guys don't come.
: )
That's about it for continued ma'gas practice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ma'gas practice today, May 19-Tuesday
We also went off shore today during practice at Matapang.
I love going offshore at Matapang.
I just feel soo comfortable going offshore there.
I know where everything is at, when you go offshore you know where your at, and you can actually tell when your offshore.
LOL.
Of course i was sitting in Seat 1, like always, never fails.
They say i'm a good stroker.
OKay guys, whatever you say.
My coaches know best, so i guess i am.
I don't want to brag or anything. But i don't think i'm very great at stroking.
The swells weren't as BIG as Piti's.
I thought i was going to paddle air again.
But we went out with the "galaides", not the "rocket" boat that the nose is pointy in the front.
The rocket boat is pointy in the front, and as Julius says, "the wave breaker".
That, i guess is true.
Good job Julius. : )
I had fun today at practice, felt kind of "sea sick" when we were about to go off shore.
I wasn't feeling to good.
But at the end of all the drills, we SWAM!
Woohoo.
Well, practice Thursday, May 21, 09 at Matapang.
Hope to see you Ma'gas and NEW paddlers there.

Ma'gas Practice
First time in quite a long time i've been to Ma'gas practice.
I haven't been to practice in a while because it's in Piti, and that's kind of far for my mom to drive.
And there is really anybody to take us, my Mang(grandma on mom's side) would probably wouldn't take us down there.
So when my mom has the chance, she gets off early and takes us to practice.
So, me and Maia went to practice on Thursday, but we were super late around 5:30(practice starts at 5) and they were warming up for quite a long time.
We had some issues to take care of, thats why we were late. : (
Coach Melina said she was going to wait for us, and i was just questioning myself why would they wait for us. We were going to go offshore! WOOHOO!
So we arrived, at first i wasn't really feeling good. I had a BIG headache.
Like always, Coach Annie put me one(stroker).
In my boat i had: in seat 2 i had Jamie, in seat 3 i had Jerome, in seat 4 i had Josh, in seat 5 i had Rachel, and steering seat 6 was Coach Annie.
It was a pretty long paddle to get over the reef.
I had no idea if we were over the reef yet.
I was looking were the waves were crashing, and there were two places were they were crashing.
And as we were passing "Camel Rock", I was like, "OH yes, we are surely offshore already."
The swells out there were HUGE!
The swells came to our boat and just lifted the front of the boat up, and the nose would just SLAM down back into the water.
It was pretty scary and fun at the same time.
I was paddling in AIR! Woohoo!
We went about one mile out, and then we turned around and went back in.
While we were going back in, the swells again, were super big, and the Ama was on the swell side so, If somebody actually leaned to the right acutally OUT of the boat, it would be really easy to flip or "Hulee"(I'm not so sure how to spell it)
We also rode waves in.

Paddling season is OVER!
Yesterday was the last day of our paddling season for High school. : (
Isn't that sad?
Well, at least for the people who were on the team.
I'm sad for all those times we had together(good), throwing seaweed at each other.
Just for all those good times and bad when we were all sad togehter. : (
I'm so going to miss that.
For my manhoben ladies : You made me proud since the start of the beginning of the season cuz there was actually a manhoben girls crew.
If it wasn't for you guys, i'd probably be in Sottera and i really don't want to be in Sottera YET!
You ladies IMPROVED, did your HARDEST, and you guys PUSHED your hearts out.
I'm really proud of you guys, like i've said in my past few blogs.
Every race was awesome even though we did bad on some of them, it's still COOL!
All cool.
And guess what readers?
Manhoben ladies got SECOND PLACE OVERALL!
Still good.
At least we got a trophy.
For the mixed, the mixed did so great too.
We got 3rd place overall, that's also VERY good.
We were like something half a second from Okkodo or was it JFK?
Anyway, we were third place overall.
The manhoben advanced to the finals all the way.
The sottera advanced without having to go through semi finals.
That was super lucky.
But that just wasn't all the hapiness today.
There was a bit of unluckiness.
In the morning it was raining, then when the race started, sottera raced first.
So they had no idea that the current was soo STRONG!
So they ran over the flag, and had to turn around and re-do the turn.
Then that same race, southern girls over turned and ran into St. Pauls.
They got a DQ.
So our ladies advanced to the FINALS! woohoo.
So the races go on, a little discussing about the disqualification on that turn of southern and St. Pauls.
Then the Sottera man go, at the beginning of the race, Tony broke the paddle and JP told him to jump off.
And the saying is, "Start with 6 and end with 6".
So they just got another DQ.
Tony was pissed like hell and so was coach.
That was not a good idea for him to do that.
So they got DQd.
: (
What an unlucky day.
That was soo bad.
The current was bad, everything.
There was rain, Tony breaking a paddle, and him jumping off the boat.
In the end, it all worked out.
The Manhoben girls got second place, Manhoben Mixed got third place, Sottera girls got third place, and Sottera mixed got second place.
So it was all good. : )
Got really sunburn and after all the rain, it was super hot.
So i got sunburned.
LOL
